A local newspaper published an advertisement for part 66 courses by Air New Zealand Aviation Institute.
For the advantage of those who are new to the aircraft maintenance, I enclose some of the definition of the common terms used in the advertisement.
1. EASA - stands for European Aviation Safety Agency, a body the control the civil aviation in the European Union.
2. Part 147 - the section with EASA rules and regulations (Law) that control the establishment of training organisation, or training schools that conduct courses leading to the aircraft maintenance license.
3. B1.1 and B2 - The are two out of the many licenses awarded to the qualified individuals.
B1.1 means, B1 = mechanical license and .1 is for fixed wing aircraft fitted with jet engine.
B2 is for avionics License - It covers all type of aircraft including helicopter, piston engine and big jet like B747.
CHECKING WITH EASA
Yes - It is aproved
It may be suprise to some, We have two approved School in Malaysia, The MIAT and MAS.
