EASA SCHOOL

We are a recognised EASA training school. Approved by the EASA in Europe. You can always check the list of approved school at EASA web site. Most of the school and Malaysia do conduct courses based on EASA, but they are not recognised. Thus the examinations are normally conducted by another party such as the British Council.

Courses For Aircraft Engineering

If you were to scan the internet for courses to pursue aircraft maintenance engineering, you will be surprise on the result. No wonder many Malaysian are confused about this. The outdated information at the DCA site does not clarify the issue.

Here are the schools available for the course, as per the internet search.

The information from the Malaysian Civil Aviation DCA.

ALLIED Offering DCAM Part 66 CAT A1

A promotional article was written in a local Malay newspaper BERITA HARIAN, on the training program offered by a new company, Allied Aeronautics Training Centre.

Cerita Harian  20 Mac 2016

The Contents includes:

1. The forecasted demand for skilled workers in aviation industry for the next 5 years is about 245,000.

2. In the South East Asia region, around 67,400 technicians are required in the aircraft  maintenance area.

3. In Malaysia the need is estimated to be around 32,000.

The course is 3 years with 30% theory and 70% practical. With the A1 license, the worker is expected to earn around rm1980 to rm2500 per month. However he/she may be able to earn more with the B license. The present estimate earning is about rm10,000.

MY  COMMENTS
1. There are a number of Malaysian companies who conducted courses using EASA syllabus. This has misled the public to think that the companies are approved by EASA.

2. The are also other companies who claim to conduct the program following DCAM syllabus, but they are not approved by Malaysian DCA.

3. The approved organisations are thos who have Part 147 approval, or ATO, approved training organisation.

4. DCA has not conducted any examination to approve personnel for Part 66 A1 approval.

5. Details of the approval system can be obtained from DCA at http://www.dca.gov.my/sectors-divisions/airworthiness/notices/ and check for AN1101 and 1201 including the appendix. .

Education TVET

The education in Technical and Vocation is important in our effort to reduce poverty. This was quoted in the UNESCO web page. However Malaysia is facing an acute problem in attracting students to study in the field technical and science. Unless the cause of the problem is corrected, the future of the nation toprogress is in doubt

My school is following this model, and since it is a university, the word "higher" is added.
This the statement from it website.
To ensure quality and excellence in teaching and learning,  Value-Based HTVET Educational Model was developed, which emphasises four important components:

1) Innovative Teaching and Learning,
2) Quality Curriculum,
3) Academic Professionalism, and
4) Student Talent Enhancement.

In this model, the 4 important components above are supported by  shared values of Commitment, Integrity, Teamwork, Innovativeness and Excellence which guide the culture and practices of academic staff and students.

The  Value-Based HTVET Educational Model also supports the 5 Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) and UniKL Educational Goal which is in line with the University's Vision and Mission.

Maintaining Approved Examination Center

The  Civil Aviation Authority in my country, approved Ground Schools to conduct training preparing for B1 and B2 licenses. The approval is given under the authority of AN1201 issued on 1 Apr 2011.

An approved training school may apply for another supplementary approval under appendix 4, known as AIRWORTHINESS NOTICE No. 1201 Appendix 4 Issue 1 for " EXAMINATION ON BEHALF OF DGCA"

Some of the issues involved in maintaining the part 147 and its approved Exam Centers includes:

Related to 147 approval
1. Skill related training and assessment.
The areas related to the skill training is more complex and less developed for most organisation. The reasons are likely to be due to its historical factors. Prior to EASA license, my school was involved with the BCAR Section L licensing. Under BCAR, the training was focused on the Knowledge component and the Skills component was conducted by a maintenance organisation. The license examination covers both the knowledge and skill component.

The issues include
a. Log Book
b. Task Sheet
c. The Assessment

2. Knowledge related component.
a. relate to the width and the depth of the knowledge
b. Questions for the approved questions
